Welcome

The project was carried out over several weeks, analysing and evaluating human remains and then producing a report detailing the findings.
This independent project was originally intended to take place in China, but after a run in with local officials I had to plan and carry out a new project. The final piece of work was a survey of Deans Acre, a little bit of land not too far from the new Heslington East campus.
My undergraduate dissertation focused on Egypt and the trade relations it had with the East. With a short time frame and limited word count, the research for this project can be continued to a much higher level.
A Java programming course in which the final project was to design and create a Top Trumps card game in Java. The subjects were super cars, and each had already been given a set of statistics to work with. General concepts such as polymorphism, encapsulation and inheritance all played a part in the creation of the game.
This website was created as part of an assessment. The website is based on a fictional conference, and instead of being graphically impressive it focused on usability. There is also a 20,000 word report accessable from the site that explains each section in detail.
A group work project that involved creating a booking agency for a travel company. The project had to show the software concepts behind the decisions as well as the practical use of such concepts.
My postgraduate dissertation focused on the perception of colours used on websites. The project idea itself was a very good one, but the project was always on the edge of ballooning out of proportion. Coupled with the poor response from internet users, the project never really explored it's greater potential and as such it would make for an interesting higher research topic.
